After two decades of threatening to, I've finally published a book.

Stray Dog: A Quest for Scraps is a book of poetry, collected in a themed work to express the cycle of my relationships. It's currently available on my website and on Amazon, and is coming soon to Nook, Goodreads, and Smashwords.

Also, I saw The Muppets. And it was rad.

Miss you guys, love you lots, and I'll check back in after some of the holiday crazy dies down a bit!

Since :iconktobermanns: was kind enough to tag me, and I had a few spare moments, I figured I'd play along. And, since you're kind enough to be reading this, guess what? YOU DO TOOOOOOOOO!

RULES:
1->You must post these rules.
2->Each person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
3->Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create ten new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4->You have to choose 10 people to tag and post their icons on your journal.
5->Go to their pages and tell them you have tagged her/him.
6->No tag backs
7->No crap in the tagging section about "You are tagged if you're reading this." You legitimately have to tag 10 people

1.) What project would you be working on right now, if you had the time?
It's less about time and more about money, though I really should finish that cloak this week, and knit my poor mother some socks. She's waited for them a long time.
2.) You're given free tickets to a concert and cannot wait to attend. Who's the band/artist?
Murder by Death
3.) Is there something you wish EVERYONE had read/seen? What is it?
Firefly. Just...Firefly.
4.) Your life now has a narrator. Whose voice do you want?
James Earl Jones.
5.) Is there a story/movie convention or stock character you wish would disappear from any future media? If so, what is it?
Dark, brooding, stoic, far-too-intense, dime-a-dozen anti-heroes. Gimme back my Jack Burtons and Ash Williams.
6.) You suddenly gain one skill from a game you've played. Note I said skill - the Force/superpowers/Disciplines/spells do not count!  What did you learn?
Does mowing my lawn with a sword to find money count?
7.) Do you remember your dreams?
Unfortunately, most always.
8.) Someone you admire intensely publicly endorses/promotes your work. Who is it?
Oh wow, um... I guess, since I'm a writer, LeVar Burton. But you wouldn't have to take his word for it...
9.) You have a literal Get Out of Jail Free card- you can commit one criminal act and get away with it. What will you use it on?
Become a politician--then my one criminal act can become a whole career with a great retirement plan.
10.) Ever considered/gotten a tattoo? What did you have in mind/get, and why?
I want a few. I just can't afford them. I want some for people and some for ideals, but the biggest one I have planned so far is the Siberys Mark of Making from Eberron on my right shoulder and upper arm.

So, who are my vict--uh, choices?

:iconirvanovich::iconthevikinggoddess::iconjade-azazel::iconmeeyotch::iconduchesspariah:

Answer these:
1) What artist has inspired you the most?
2) What do you enjoy most about your OWN art?
3) If you had three wishes, what would the second one be?
4) Favorite failed New Year's Resolution?
5) What means more to you: something bought with care, or handmade with abandon?
6) If you could pick up one talent, any talent at all, what would you choose?
7) Favorite scent?
8) The best book you've read this year?
9) Describe your favorite restaurant in a haiku.
10) What's your favorite breakfast cereal?

The three of you that remember this page exists will notice that my gallery is a lot leaner than it's been in a long time. Some of your favorite deviations may have disappeared, or comments you've made been lost to the Great Aether. DON'T PANIC. I have my towel and my calm, and you should just trust me on this. I'm going through some changes, and so is my work, and ultimately, the way I present it. News soon; I'll keep you posted.

I am, according to rule three below, obligated to attempt this.

The rules:

1- Be one of the first 14 people commenting on this journal entry, and I will add you to the Promotional List
2- For each of those 14 people I will put their avatar and three deviations I like from their gallery on the list.
3- If I feature you, you'll have to do the same in your journal, putting me on the first place, completing this way the list with 15 people.

1. :iconshadowsquill: A friend of a friend who's become quite dear in her own right, ShadowsQuill is a rarity in that she seems to genuinely understand me, though we haven't known each other over-long. Her poetry sings of hope in the midst of despair, light illuminating the darkness of loneliness, and a consuming faith in the Consuming Fire. I cannot express to you how difficult it was to only choose three.
On Sermons and Pigeons: My gripe with modern religion is that it has stopped serving the Divine and started serving itself. This piece illustrates my thinking on the matter in a way I couldn't convey myself.
On Spheres and Lampstands: A prayer that touches my heart.
Forlorn Hope: This. This is my favorite piece in her entire gallery, because this is the way I've always lived my life. Only words like these can express the courage found in futility, and the panic found in courage. These situations prove that courage isn't fearlessness, it's righteousness in the face of fear.
2. :icondaedaleus-archivist: Friend and brother, this guy has been with me through thick and thin over the last dozen years. He and I both share writing as a hobby, and it leads to some interesting literary discussions.
In Coromaur's Debt: Part of the story introduces Coromaur, one of my favorite characters in this setting.
Sturm: Sturm is just an average guy with average days. Or is he?
The Shadow of Pride: This just wrecks me. The feeling embodied in this work is like a bulldozer to the walls of the heart.
